LITEhouse, Inc. was created in 2011 by a family of women from the North Shore who saw a serious need for a well-rounded residential system for young adults with learning/cognitive disabilities. From the personal experience of having a sister and daughter require services that were nonexistent in the area, LITEhouse, Inc. became a reality.
Emily Korkaris (Co-Founder and Program Director) is the mother of three beautiful young women. Having raised a daughter with special needs, Emily is an expert on understanding the complexities of daily living for someone with challenges. She is able to fine tune the programming to focus on what is really important. In addition to raising her daughters, Emily has taught Modern Greek at the high school level for over 30 years. She is very dedicated to keeping the Greek culture alive. Emily loves to spend time with her family and selflessly give to those in need.
Angelina Marina Kalafatis (Co-Founder and Program Nurse) is an Early Intervention Nurse and graduate of Fitchburg State University. She is a sister and a daughter, and is passionate about wellness. Within LITEhouse, Angelina focuses on self-accountability and the constant drive for higher levels of independence. Outside of LITEhouse, Angelina enjoys cooking, singing, dancing, painting, yoga and trying to learn the ukulele.
